Romesburg will discuss his new book Contested Curriculum: LGBTQ History Goes to School. A history of an evolving movement and a handbook for activists, Contested Curriculum tracks the rocky path to LGBTQ-inclusive K–12 history education in the U.S. and recounts the ongoing fight for a curriculum that recognizes the value of queer and trans lives.
Don Romesburg is Visiting Professor of History, Women’s and Gender Studies, and Queer Studies at Cal Poly. He was a lead scholar in implementing California’s FAIR Education Act.
